A Panfu Private Server (often abbreviated as PPS) is a replica of Panfu, created by members of the community as a way to play the game after its closure in 2016.

Modified Clients[]
A modified client was a kind of private server that used the server of the original Panfu and only made changes to the client.
The most common features of these clients were the reactivation of the chat function or an item adder that allowed players to add items to their inventory.
This usually required a decompiled version of the client to be able to edit the source code of the game.
History[]
After the closure of the original Panfu, Panfu.us and Pannun started working on their own server in order to continue using the Panfu client.
The first server was developed in 2017 by Panfu.us and was based on Kitsune, a Club Penguin server emulator.
The only public emulator was made by altro50 and Christiaan in 2018. It's named OpenPanfu and is open sourced, however the project has been inactive since January 2019.
