San Franpanfu is a room in Panfu. It consists of the Beauty salon, the restaurant Chez Bruno and the Be Smarter quiz game. The path between the restaurant and the Beauty salon leads to the Pony yard.
History[]
The room's name was first mentioned in a post on the official Panfu blog.[1]
The post was entitled New world coming to Panfu soon! and it talked about a new construction site back in July 2008. At the end there was a list of options and pandas had to pick (by commenting) what the name of the new place will be. The choices were the following:
- San Franpanfu
- Momo City
- Kamo City
- Bamboo Village
- Pandapolis
- Greenfu Village
Two weeks later the winning name was picked on July 22, 2008 and the new place was officially declared open on the Panfu blog, though only for Gold Pandas.
The runner-up after San Franpanfu was Bamboo Village which came close only by a few votes. Pandapolis was the 3rd most voted. After that there were Momo City, Kamo City and Greenfu Village on the 4th, 5th and 6th place respectively.

- The game is listed as bigcity in the game files.
- The room was first accessible on July 10, 2008, during the first phase of construction. It was called A mysterious construction site in game until the construction concluded.
- The map showed the fourth phase of the construction site during all the phases of construction.
- The construction of San Franpanfu concluded on July 22, 2008.
- It was Gold Panda-only from July 11, 2008 until August 7, 2008.
- The name is based on San Francisco.
